Pitches and CWS

Seems like the big combination this year is a bullet spin rise coupled with a 12-6 drop/fb.

I've not seen a 6-12 rise or any 9-3/3-9 pitches.


Anyone see something different?

Saw Carrie Eberle (OSU) live on the 12-6 drop earlier today. Seemed like bulk of time was spent in the bottom half of the zone.

Fouts was mostly pure bullet spin, she did throw a couple of top/bullet "drops". But I will also add that the camera angle/view might distort things a little.

No doubt about it. So many curves and I haven't seen curve spin once. Maybe the curve doesn't exist.... IDK

I will say this....OU Shannon Saile has the most movement that I have seen. Yes, I am an OU homer but she had some today that broke hard. Also had 2 get hit out and thus lost the game but she has movement more than I have seen so far. But she isn't in the 70's like some of these kids.

Very interesting! Rochard for VaTech had the best rise ball IMO in the regionals(spin wise anyways!).

I thought it was also interesting that the big JMU homer vs OU was on a 43 mph 1st pitch changeup...
