The only Input I have is the two minute rule, If you want them to watch the whole thing you need to keep it two minutes or less. You run the risk of having what a certain coach is looking for being in the last half and by then they not watching. I'm posting this here so others doing videos can get an Idea of the coaches in general are looking for and you can use the info to tailor a video.

I think a skills video needs to catch the coaches attention in the first minute to get them to watch the entire video, but it is tough to keep a pitchers skills video under 2-minutes, especially if it includes hitting and a secondary fielding position.

This is Info our recruiting got for us at PGF a few weeks ago and its quite interesting. There are some patterns that should be observed in what they are actually looking for. Not necessarily for the OP but I thought this info would come in handy for some.

The biggest thing I take from this list is the grad dates. Good to see how many are recruiting sophomores. Or rather, is that the "2018" season?

the video dragged on for a long time.

Someone mentioned two minute rule. Yes also keep the video footage raw. The edits were great. Just not really needed for this type of video. Of course I could be wrong?

For the fastball shots, I noticed immediately the catcher had to move her glove a lot to catch the first fastball. Since this is an edited video, only show shots where your daughter totally nails her target.

Like someone else said, I think showing the pitch from the pitcher's view would be better. Also, showing speeds is imperative.

Off topic a bit, but the few skills videos I have seen rarely shows game shots. Is that frowned upon? My daughter is not old enough for any of these type videos, but I always wondered about this.

Cool to see some local area colleges on here. DD is a pitcher and stud athlete that can hit. 2023 though...;)

I thought the video was pretty good. I watched the whole thing which means you did a good job filming/editing. Time seemed right to me, I agree with the 60 second rule but I don't know about limiting the whole video to 2 minutes. 3-4 minutes maybe and that's right where you are. I don't think I've seen a video longer than 5 minutes where I watched the whole thing.

Hitting kind of dragged so I would add my vote for some shots from behind the batter so you can see where the hits go (someone recently posted a video that did an excellent job of this)
I like the idea of the camera view up high behind the pitcher.

That list is not on a web site of any kind, Its just feed back from my older DDs recruiting coach after their run at PGf. Those were the coaches that came to watch our Team or a specific player. I just passed on the E-mail thinking It might be useful to the DFP community.

Bucket,

Can you post the address of the list?

Thanks
