I'm right here.
I always find myself thinking about building a cage using pvc but figured direct hits would break the piping. Is that 1 1/2” you used?

2" Sch40. Direct hits to the pvc hasn't been the problem.

Lateral bracing on both ends was essential (the wood angle pieces).

Direct hits to the wood braces would result in one of three scenarios.

1. Nothing
2. The wood shatters
3. The board pops off the pvc, fastener and all. When this happens the fastener will take some pipe with it. So the back end has a couple small chunks broken off where the wood bracing used to be attached.

It would have been better to sandwich the 8 corners of the cage between two triangle pieces of plywood. Plywood is stronger and any direct hits would not have these concerns.

Overall it has been great; can't complain. BUT...it can be in the way (see overhead door). This winter I am going to modify the whole thing by removing frame and hanging the net from the ceiling with a pulley system. When it's in the way we'll just pull the net up and out of the way.

If you're indoors, why make a frame at all? Hang the netting from the ceiling, or build a frame for the top only, none needed for the sides. Just get enough net to lay on the floor

Pole Barn hitting cage= DD has favorite number for life.
