This is a no. I am all about safety, but I refuse to wear a clown hat on my head.

Stupid MLB. "Let's try to make it look like a hat, who cares if it only protects from 5% of head strikes to the part of the head that rarely causes permanent damage, it looks kinda like a hat if you squint really hard."

If they want to add protection, fine, use a lacrosse mask or something proven. Don't try to "appease the spirit of the game". The spirit of the game already hates you.

I believe they calculated it to a .0004% accuracy rate. I played baseball for over 18 years through and fortunately haven't been hit with a fastball while pitching. I don't understand why they don't wear they catchers helmets or coaches helmet. I played ball with a guy that wore one in 1998.
