Interesting Idea. I could see a team doing these at every tournament. Have a parent in charge of the poster and carry it field to field with an easel behind the dugout or stands. $5 a chance for a weekly winner. Announce the winner when the team gets knocked out or wins the tourney. Heck, I might have to do it myself since my wife lost her job recently.Have every parent donate a $20 scratch off ticket or 4x $5 (you get the picture) stick them to a poster board and then raffle off chances to win the board. We made over $1000 with very little effort, gamblers will be gambling.
I am in this boat. You should have a pretty good idea of how many tourneys you intend to play, field rental, cage time on rainy days, paid coaches, uniforms/gear, etc. Do some math and budgeting to figure out the per player costs. Might be harder for those start up teams, but many of the established organizations have a cost already set up.God I hate fundraising. I’m adult enough to be happy it’s there for the people who need it since this sport is so stupid expensive but mostly I just ask what you expect each player to contribute and pay it.
