Dd wants to play some catcher

One hop is OK if it bounces about 7' in front and comes up into the glove. Bouncing near SS' feet will be very hard to handle.

some will tell you that you can't be both. But I say give it a go. Will she be the best catcher in the county, while being the best pitcher in the county? Maybe not. But can she be good at both? Only way to find out is do it. My dd played both through 10u. In 12u she played one season primarily as a catcher and the next as a pitcher.

Tomorrow on her HS JV team she will be catching, on Wednesday she will be pitching. Her team has 2 good pitchers and no good catchers, so she pitches every other game and now is catching the ones she doesn't pitch.
