Encourage it, but make sure she has the best helmet and pads. As @ANNASDAD mentioned, that ball is hard! I know two HS LAX athletes. One female who is a goalie. She has had 5-6 concussions since starting the sport about 4 years ago. The male athlete I know was on concussion protocols only once, but for three months. He was not allow by his parents to return to the sport.

Another friend has a son playing college LAX in SoCal. Have not heard of any traumas with him, but not in their direct circle.
