Love this story. Everyone's high school experience will be a little different, but as I told my own daughter and other girls from our TB team - "Your experience will be what you make of it. Good or bad, learn from it and use what you learn to make yourself better." This story is a great example of that. The life lessons she is learning in this challenging senior season will be far more beneficial in the long run than anything she'll learn or do on the softball field.

Cool kid. I'm from the area and most parents just bitch about high school softball nonstop. It's hard for that not to rub off on the players. A little humility and empathy (funneled into leadership) goes a long way.

Wonderful story, one of my pet peeves over the last couple years is the way many in travel ball turn their nose up at school ball and discount the important lessons to be learned from playing for your community and something bigger than yourself.
