Interesting, thanks iM...that's kinda what I thought about the outside barrier and preventing the casting motion. Our old Schutt tee is like the leaning tower of Pisa so I'm not keen on a repeat performance of that. Seems easy enough to make a homemade version of the Tanner if I can find the right thickness rubber/gasket material.
You can find it on eBay but I can't remember what it's called...

Tanner tees are the best. Wil last longer than any tee on the market! Worth every cent!

For those recommending the Tanner tee. Have you used other high end tees? The G-Tee is in another ballpark than the Tanners. 2 year warranty on everything including the topper and built like a tank. Sure its more expensive but you get what you pay for just like anything else. I have used the Tanners, Atec T3 (G-tee looks but not same quality), G-Tee and just about every other tee out there.
