This is for batting instructors.
Are bat comparisons just an excercise of futility. What about weight and length? Swing the heaviest you can, right? Is there any way to truly decide which bat has the most pop, is the most durable etc? Isn't it more likley that "feel" makes the decision to buy? Is a 2 piece really better than a one piece for contact hitters? End loaded vs balanced? Or, maybe its looks. If it was somehow proven that one bat was superior to all others, everybody would buy it, right?
I think we are all just looking for a bat that feels good and gives us confidence. Go to the store swing a bunch and find one you like and buy it. What ever gives you confidence is my choice.
Please let me know if I am way off base, pun intended.
