It's been a long time since I thought about the value of her bag or what's in it.

OMG, that's $1,000 worth of stuff!! Team supplies the helmet and the bag.

ace bandage - dirty
full sunscreen
empty bag of seeds
500 seeds in bottom of bag mixed with dirt and some other unknown substance
4 partly used lip balm

Coach n Dad - With all of those seeds, you will soon have mice in the bag. I have seen them eat the padding out of helmets before.

Back in the days following Katrina, I was on a board where we were trying to account for all of our members from that area. As they would get to safety and write in, they were all saying that when it became evident that they needed to evacuate, they threw the bat bag in the car because they knew it was valuable. I did the same then, one day when a forest fire threatened our home in Flagstaff. My husband, who knows nothing about softball questioned what I was doing. I just said "Trust me."
