No the force of the drive is a minor component and can easily be demonstrated. The mechanics related to the drive and the ability to convert that energy is what counts, not how hard you push. Have seen my DD easily step and throw 65mph in flip flops. Safe to say she was not pushing. The fastest she ever threw was 72mph and worked in the 67-68 range. She had very good leg drive and if you do the math she was about 6% better when going full out off the rubber. While 6% is nothing to dismiss there are much more important things to focus on than increasing leg drive like generating resistance. IME increasing leg drive is what you work on when you get everything else working properly. Have seen many a pitcher get caught up in increasing leg drive while having only 1 or 2 of the 4 points of resistance. That is pure folly. Until you have all 4 points of resistance and can actually transfer the force you create with the legs you are wasting your time be it with or without a gadget.

(now to find the 4 pts of resistance and make sure I understand correctly, Thank you.)

Along with I/R in The Classroom by BoardMember, and Lower Body Mechanics javasource it is a must read.

ETA: Brush Interference is a must read also. These are they types of things the new admin should work with the authors to clean up and re-post without any of the noise.

Dittoing riseball's input. Most folks can throw 95% speed-wise by just walking into the pitch. A good drive adds that extra 5% AND puts the pitcher 2-3 feet closer which adds 3-4.5 MPH in perceived reaction time. The keys are the posture, FSR and arm mechanics at release. This gadget does little to promote good whip, FSR or posture.

From what I can tell, the beauty of this gadget is that is provides immediate feedback on the power of the drive foot strike, which can add to the efficiency of a pitcher with good FSR, whip and posture at release. Slow motion video and a speed gun can do the same, but I really think this gadget has some potential to help a PC and pitcher squeeze out that extra umph that the Power Drive fails at. With the right instruction and the cash to spare, I'm thinking this gadget has some potential.

Hoping that QueenoftheHill is a student more than a sales person and is willing to take the above input and use it to refine the sales pitch to improve the outcome of the consumers who buy this product. (And maybe someday I'll learn how to avoid run on sentences...)

I think avoiding the run on sentence is a lost cause.

I agree with you, and I am not running out and buying one. However, if this is something that one of our DDs is struggling with, we can and will spend a lot more than that in lessons trying turn on that light. Never mind the frustration.

How long before most get control back? 1 lesson or 2 weeks. Trying to figure out when to start the training between tournaments. Also, do you work all pitches off the Queen?

Save your money and buy a good o'l fashioned pitching plate for $20-30 and work on overlap and leg drive mechanics. In general, you don't need any "gimmicks" or tools to pitch well. It takes proper mechanics and lots and lots of practice.
