I hear ya. I'm hoping Maddie can stick with her 33/23 CF8 for a while. There's been a new bat under the Christmas tree every year since she started playing (late starter, 8yo). The recent purchases have been cleats (metals, finally!)...and a new chest protector...and a 1-hour session with Janelle Lindvall...

And a two-hour round trip drive (if you are lucky) to Westlake Village for the lesson! Love the Lindvall sisters. DD attended the UCLA softball camp with Devon Lindvall and she was a great mentor to my daughter.

My daughter swung a couple of bats tonight, a few DeMarinis and a Xeno. She wasn't a huge fan of the Xeno as for the same size bat, she felt it was noticeably heavier.

So, it's on to a search for an older model year Demarini CF of some sort

The Xeno will feel heavier than the LXT. The LXT swings lighter than it's given weigh because it is so balanced. DD does not like the Xeno at all but loves her LXT. The only Demarini she has experience with is her slapper bat. Last year several of her teammates had -11 Demarinis and all 4 girls wound up with broken bats. I think the -10s are more durable.

The Demarini CF Whatever is the most popular bat around my neck of the woods. It has a long barrel which is a good thing. The -11 CF seems to have some durability issues from what I have read. I say CF Whatever because I personally don't think there is a big difference between model years. People will often tell you that some bat several years back is the best one ever. The problem with these vintage bats is those that have them want a fortune for them and they are getting more and more swings on them.

With all the good things I said about the Demarini's my DD won't touch them. She thinks they vibrate too much and prefers the LXT. As many have said, it is a personal preference thing.

Our organization hosted Lauren for a weekend of clinics. My DD was named an MVP and was given the bat. Lauren is my DD's favorite player ever since Lauren got to OU so it was a thrill and confidence boost for sure. She hit her first 2 over the fence homers with that bat in the spring!

Very cool!!!! Last winter, I signed my dd up for a hitting clinic hosted by Sierra Romero. It was a great experience for my dd, but I think I was more excited
