Had a outdoor game with 6 inches of snow on the field. Hot chocolate, snow suits and micro waved balls in a thermo cooler. My daughter still takes about how much fun it was 10 years later!

Right Here For Now
I had my team take off three weeks in August between tryouts and when we needed to start practicing for our Fall Ball tourneys. we have continued every week since with a few exceptions but have now moved to indoor practices at an indoor facility. In March, we will move to another indoor facility that has an entire field and start to scrimmage. From there we move directly into our Spring/Summer tourney schedule. We'll play 3 on and 1 off from the beginning of April through the 3rd week of July. This is 12U TB mind you where I don't have players playing school ball since there is no MS ball in my area.

We're up in the NW and they practice indoors in the winter whether it's in a gym or hitting facility. They take a few weeks off at the end of fall and start in mid November. They'll have a week off here or there for major Holidays. We'll travel south for a tournament or 2 in Jan/Feb.

This year winter w/o for my daughter:
  • Team practices 2-3 week inside hitting facility
  • Team workouts 2x a week at strength/conditioning facility
  • Daughter will pitch w/ me individually at community gymnasium 2-3x week ...we usually add-in a few short fielding and/or hitting drills

This is the best time of the year for tearing things down and looking at things. Working with my daughter this time of year is very enjoyable because it's low stress and we typically see the largest gains in her game especially pitching.
