Submitted for your consideration- now that we have a video, DD will begin emailing College coaches. she is interested in "Little ponds" in DII and DIII.

She got her emails started over Christmas break and then discovered that the introductory e-mail should have a video attached-which we didn't have so she and her sister and I got some cage time and cobbled together some video on her smart phone.

please feel free to check it out (about 3.1/2 minutes)and make any constructive criticisms that could help us improve on the next one (planning to do one on the field after the snow melts and the fields are reasonably dry in May)

looking at it now, I think we over-did the tee work hitting to different fields, and it's not clear that's what we're doing in the video.
thanks

NOTE: I removed the link because some idiot put DD's cell # in the video!

Is that facility in Danvers, MA??? It has to be. I sat on those couches a few months ago!

I'm not a college coach, but my thoughts were the same as yours ... the directional tee work probably wasn't necessary. Also, those shots from behind were a little deceptive. I know she's hitting it hard, but because of the depth of field, they didn't all look that way.

Definitely a good first video to my mind.

you are correct!
its always strange when you are on this board, talking with people all over the country and then someone posts a picture of your back yard!

I would merge the tee shots with the front toss, and re-label transition screen from "Front Toss" (kind of obvious, really!) to maybe "Opposite Field", "Straight Away" and "Pull", or maybe even "Power Alley's" (include RC + LC hits) and "Straight Away" (Up the Middle?).

General Disclaimer - I know nothing about the college recruiting process beyond what I've read here. IIRC, you get about 30 seconds for that "first impression" to make them watch the remaining 1:30 or so. So maybe add in a splash screen at the start to let the coach know she's also a pitcher, maybe 2 columns - one for hitting stats, and one for pitching stats, maybe a brief transition to a bulleted list of any awards received (player of the week, etc.).

And just to confuse things (b/c what's the fun if everyone agrees?) - I liked the shots from behind - for me it was harder to tell angles when from the side (the one she pulled looked like it could of gone over 3B, or into the stands behind 3B).

Best of luck to her!
