What are the differences in baseball cleats vs softball cleats? I have trouble finding hightop cleats for my DD and usually end up in the baseball cleats.
DD is 11 yrs old but pitches for a 14U A team. She avgs 3.4 pitches per batter faced and First strike percentage is 65%, total strike % is 61%. She's had 5 walks out of 5 games.
Sorry but I need to brag a little. Update on moving our 11 & 12 yr old daughters to a 14U A level team. This Sat was their first tournament with the 14U team. We could not be more proud and the coaches were thrilled. 11 Pitcher DD started pitching the first game. She did awesome!! One walk...
What are the opinions on these bats? I am very hesitant on getting the Xeno due to hearing about cracking etc. We currently use the Demarini's CF5 and Vendetta.
Other suggestions on bats? Synergy? Stealth? etc
The select team they made is an A level travel team. They will be starters on the team, even though they are the youngest The catcher turned 12 in Jan. the pitcher will be 12 next month. She pitches in the mid-high 50s. She pitched against 16u HS girls and shut them down. They have worked hard...
Basically the Select team in our area are A teams. This team does focus on preparing them for HS and recruiting for college. They will play some exposure tournaments.
I posted earlier that we were faced with the decision to stay with the team our two DDs were on or move them up to 14U Select team that they tried out for and made. We truly wanted to honor the committment to the team and ride out the spring season, however after the first and second tournaments...
I cannot stand for the coach to yell "throw strikes" what do you think the girls are trying to do? We would love for our DD's to get up there and strike everyone out but that's not their only job. They need to pitch put the ball into play, their defense should be able to back them up..it is a...
Made the move to 14U which means they can now wear metal cleats...how does that effect pitching? Is there a big difference when pitching in metal vs molded?
Seems like I am at both ends of the spectrum. Either taking too much or not enough. I do however have a duffle bag which I keep with me for all games and has come in handy many, many times. It includes a second uniform, First aid items, instant cold packs, deep heating rub for sore muscles...
Thanks Ken. DD eats, sleeps and dreams softball. She works very hard to be the best pitcher and player she can be. She is 12. She always talks about playing college ball and that is what she works for.
Yes I do see this combativeness coming back to bite him in the butt in the long run. I will...
We have worked to ensure our two DDs are able to play multiple positions. If something happens that our pitch DD is injured and cannot (heaven forbid) never pitch again, she will still be able to play 3rd or any position. Same with our catcher DD. The coaches like that fact that they can if...
I'm reaching out here to see if anyone else is dealing with a difficult ex and their uncooperation or making it difficult on their DD on making practices, games etc. Now he does not pay for a dime for her to participate in TB. I pay for everything.
Today our coach sent out the Sat tourney...
In your opinion..is there a difference in travel ball teams and tournament ball teams?
There are alot of parents that want their DDs on TB teams, however are not willing to travel out of their hometown. To me that is not travel ball.
Thoughts?
We all know that TB is very costly...but well worth the sacrifice..What is the average total cost per family per year?
I have roughly figured up ours, which for two DD runs around 25K per year.
Team fees, uniform, tourney fees, gate fees, equipment, hotels, camps, lessons (pitching, catching...
It looks like her arm is not coming around in the circle..it's almost bent over her head. Also it looks like she is "arming" it instead of a snap on the ball and her arm on follow up is coming up really high which would relate to her ball going high.
