    Banner advise

We hung a sheet and took individual photos. The banner people cut them out and arranged them. Parents did the picture taking.

    obtaining equipment

Before you go out and buy tennis balls and a tennis racquet check to see if any of your players or players parents play tennis. Really you don't need new tennis balls for what you are doing, everyone that plays tennis throws balls away or has tons of old balls clogging their house. As for a...

Where to find B level tournaments in NC?

Thank you, I'll look at top gun, and maybe contact the director for USSSA in NC to see if they plan to offer a July schedule.

Where to find B level tournaments in NC?

Thank you, I'll look at Top Gun. By first glance they are having their World Series that weekend and it starts on Friday. If the parents are up for the drive it could work.

Where to find B level tournaments in NC?

Hi All, I have used google, but I thought I would ask here as well. What is the best place to look for B level tournaments in North Carolina? My daughter's team is primarily 2002 birthdays playing 14U. We are from Northern Virginia and plan to play most of our schedule local. July 16/17 is a...

    Should She Make Varsity?

I think this is a great story, for all of us at any stage in life.

Where is the best place to buy used equipment?

If the purpose is hand sting, then I would start with an inner glove. Its a much less expensive option. If you don't like it then go to a new mitt. google "Markwort Palmgard Xtra Inner Glove". I think if you go to their website you can download a sizing chart and you should be able to get the...

    Total Control Balls

I have both, the TCB sand filled balls I have had since 2010, and they are showing their age. 4 of my original dozen have now been turned into whiffles after they cracked or started to leak (just in the past year). I have a couple dozen of the whiffles. I think they warranty them for a year. I...

    Tryouts when injured

Wow, I could have written the original post except with DD it was not a boot, but a knee. Right now she is not even ready yet, probably two more months of PT and strengthening. I'm struggling with making the rounds at all, or just waiting until after HS season and picking up. First priority is...

    Can we skip fall ball?

Taking the fall off to heal from an injury will not be perceived negatively. If you are worried about not finding a team, talk to the coach of a team you think she would have made and see if they will hold a spot for her. If they were going to keep 12, then keeping 11 is probably not a big...

Winning 'B' Nationals means you should have been playing in the 'A' Bracket

If they are playing Open or A tournaments in the regular season and dominating, then yes, they should not be allowed to play in B nationals. They should also not be allowed to play in A Nationals and B Nationals. However, there will always be issues if its done state by state, or region by...

Winning 'B' Nationals means you should have been playing in the 'A' Bracket

I agree. And, back to the original topic, in general, someone has to win a "B" Tournament. So to say that the team that won it should play "A", that is only true if they had no competition in the entire tournament. If all the top "B" teams were pulled to "A", then still someone would have won...

    Face mask question

There is also a youth size and an adult size. If you bought the adult, maybe its too big?

Embarrassing things you say to your daughter in games

DD#1 got all the speed in the gene pool, I feel bad for DD#2 regarding her speed but she has other great qualities. DD#2 hit a line drive to left over the left fielder's head (outfield in a bit in 12U), I said "there goes my daughter with blazing speed stretching a routine triple into a double"

How hard is it to catch? Not a player, but a dad? :)

If you have the bownet frame already, you can buy replacement nets. Just get the regular net, not the bigmouth (based on what you are doing). If the pitcher still needs a target you can squat behind the bownet. It doesn't push back that much, you will figure out the depth after 2-3 pitches.

    Call for Backup

I'm no expert, just a dad and coach, but my first thought on what she needs to work on is posture and leg drive. I also noticed her drive foot collapses on the ankle near release. Here is a good drill from Amanda Scarbourough to help ith that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex8H0gM3OA4

    Are pitchers crazy

Sue Enquist said this all started when they drew the circle around the pitcher. Turned them all into divas.

I need to sell the pool table in the basement to make more room for softball
