wow...don't believe I said it was life or death. Just trying to get some words of wisdom so we can change the conversation between us (as parents) and her. I know the negative convo is wrong, I was just looking for ideas of what to say instead.
This board can be very good for advice, but it...
Thanks for the input. My hubby and I were talking the other night and we agreed that this is a good learning experience. I agree with the poster that said, it's easy to be a good pitcher on a good team......
She is learning how to struggle through and make adjustments and figuring it out for...
We had a radar gun given to us and we want to gun our DD. Not to see how fast she throws, but to get a basis to start at and hopefully to see improvement. The problem. I don't have a clue how to run this thing. When do I pull the trigger?....ie. when do we want to pick up the speed of the ball...
I was hoping to find some info in the other face mask thread. My daughter is doing a paper for school on the use of face masks.
I'm hoping that some of you can help us out. We need to find some kind of statistics on how fast a ball comes off a bat and injury statistics. It can't be people's...
I live about 10 min from Chelsea Sundberg and have watched her pitch numerous times. I watched her in a tournament game one time and she struck out 20 of the 21 batters. High school batters couldn't touch her. It was amazing to watch
Thanks to a dropball, I now have a dead knee cap for the restof my life. Well, actually, it's an area about 1X1 inch on the outside of the cap.
I swear that ball was coming right to my glove, then at the last minute, it went under the glove. At the time, I was wearing a helmet, but no leg...
I know I'm gonna sound like an idiot....but I had no clue what a shaved bat was until I read this. By honing out the inside....doesnt that just make it a lighter bat. Why not just buy a lighter bat?
This past summer, DD pitched almost an entire game, until the last inning. We had 2 outs and was ahead by a run. Two batter hit singles off of her...putting runners at 1st and 2nd. We still needed that last out and since they had just hit twice off of her, the coach brought in another pitcher to...
Here's another cute one
At one point during a game, the coach said to one of her young players, “Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?”The little girl nodded in the affirmative.“Do you understand that what matters is whether we win together as a team?”The little girl nodded...
I guess there isn't a one size fits all answer...I should have known before I posted this. course,....I didn't need the few snarky comments I got. I'm learning about all this as I go.
But, this isn't a thread about ....so and so gets more mound time then my daughter. My daughter is the #1...
Not sure I can explain how I'm feeling, but here goes.....
My daughter is a pitcher for a tournament team. There are a couple others....some stronger them others. But, this isn't what the thread is about.
She does get a fair amount of time on the mound, but we (including her) always go away...
and I was amazed. My daughter didn't start TB till 12U, so I missed out on the younger years. The little 3rd baseman looked like she was about 6. She was so cute....but she certainly knew what to do. The pitching was pretty good too.
If anyone on here was in the Battle Creek Michigan...
Last summer, my husband told my daughter (after a rough outing on the mound) that everyone was counting on her...the team and the parents. as soon as it came out of his mouth.....he knew he shouldnt have said it (it was in the heat of the moment...emotions, etc). I tried to fix it right at that...
