We're in need of netting, it doesn't have to be an actual hitting net because we design our own. We provide a donated service and need netting to make a hitting net.
If you have or know someone who has netting, please let us know.
Thanks so much...
Keep the cardio up at a gym or home.
Pitch, there's usually plenty of places she can pitch at.
Hit the cages.
Try to simulate the season as much as possible. It's about keeping the cardio up and muscle memory. Good luck.
I think Rawling is the best glove out. As for switching gloves due to size, I don't think 13" is to big for infield at all. If her glove is floppy, that's usually due to bad molding and bad or lack of maintenance. I had an assistant coach that always had his daughter turn the fingers and web...
I think Demarini is by far the best bat offered. I have to agree, don't get such a huge drop unless it's absolutely necessary. If your daughter has played ball, figure out what her bat speed and hitting ration is and that will give you some idea of whether she needs a heavier bat or lighten it...
You are probably correct, I'm not sure ply wood is the way to go. The reason they use heavy duty neoprene or rubber is because of it's ability to bounce back and it has a memory. What that means is: think about the sears tower, if it was rigid and didn't have some sway to it...the force of...
I can tell you from years of experience that one of the largest factors of injury (out side of accidents) is due to improper form and inadequate warming up. I couldn't agree more with above...get her to an ortho immediately!!! I was diagnosed with two, yep you heard right two bad rotator cuffs...
Teaching is teaching, no matter what the subject ie: math, physics, softball, football. It starts with "the will" that will make you want to learn more and be the best you can be. Just as a High School physics teachers first day, doesn't start off with them knowing everything there is to know...
I'm partial to Rawlings. I've tried all gloves and feel that one meets my needs for comfort, molding and overall performance. Maybe check the gold glove edition and or preferred performance.
Hope this helps.
My thoughts are her bat may be a bit small. My girls (14U) use a 32/19-22. So if your daughter is a slugger with fast hands and in HS, you may consider upping her bat weight. That will slow down the swing and ultimately give her more power due to Newton's first three laws of motion.
Hope this...
I usually keep statistics (actually have my assistance keep stats) while I watch the players. You can teach a kid to hit, field and throw...you can't teach them to have drive or heart. I watch for those little things in kids that just can't be taught. I would rather have a kid who was a good...
The above are somewhat correct.
It is all dependent upon what league and classification you are in...Check your rules. All leagues have them and it will outline what is and is not allowed.
This is just simply one method of someones drill for hitting. One that works for some, may not work for others. I see his point but have never personally used this drill.
Find a drill that works for you and stick with it. Just make sure it's an effective and efficient drill.
Coach JV is correct but to answer your question, Yes it has effect on your swing: a lighter bat can usually be swung faster and a heavier bat takes more to get around. Having said that physics tells you that the heavier the object in motion is when making contact will in turn project the object...
Check Craigslist by you and ebay is a great place for deals. Of course if you can find them locally, you won't have to wait for shipping. I get most of my new balls about $1.50 each, plus s/h.
Good luck.
