No one's saying quit your job to work at McDonalds or quit a great team to play for the a crappy pick-up league team, but if you're on a team/job/relationship/etc that is displeasing and you see something else that meets your criteria for a team/job/relationship/etc?

it's a no-brainer.

Why suffer if you don't have to? Obviously if the problem is they like EVO and you don't, and they keep wanting to sing the lyrics...maybe that's not enough to upend things. It's all a balance. But don't be afraid of change. Not everything has to be a struggle.

Again - I’d like to see if I could talk with the individual first to get to the bottom of the issue. Quitting would not be my immediate action.

As always - I think there's some key nuances between quitting and leaving a team. If it's the end of the season, and you don't return, I don't really consider that quitting. If it's a toxic situation, I think it's been only a handful of instances on DFP where the sentiment was to stick it out vs leave mid-season.

This is where I realize how fortunate we've been the last few years. This offseason, going into 2nd year 14U, every girl returned. That's uncommon in our area, (probably everywhere), and I would hazard to say pretty rare for this "old" of a team. On Saturday they organized an impromptu sleepover for Sunday, and I think 12 of the 14 on the roster were there. So despite spending all day at the field on Sat, and 1/2 of it on Sun, they were still willing to spend another 12 hours together.

They may not all be best friends with each other - but when you get a group of girls who can consider each other friends, and not just teammates, that's still pretty special.

Really a sign of a solid team when everyone wants to come back.

Although...

I suppose in some cases if it's the only team that's any good within 100 miles...

DD had a kid on her first TB team (10U-12U) who was a huge PITA.. After a couple of incidents we told her to just ignore her..so that is what she did. She eventually moved on to being a PITA with other kids..There were enough other kids that she got along with that it didn't ruin her experience. We left eventually for multiple reasons and were certainly not sad that the PITA wasn't around anymore..That said PITA stuff in 10U-12U ball is probably different than PITA stuff when they are older..

Current team has one kid who thinks she shi*s ice cream and unfortunately the coach has a soft/blind spot to it (she has been with him since she was 8 or 9.. 🤷‍♂️ ). DD will complain about her to us but on the field they are fine..

Not getting along with (some) teammates can quickly go next level and become toxic if there are girls on the team who are romantically involved and things don't work out. Seen it happen at 16U+ level. Teammates pick sides or feel forced to. May have no choice but to leave. (Just to be clear, I am not passing any judgment on such relationships; only noting that they happen and can end up affecting team dynamics if they go south).

Not to pass judgment on any relationships either,
but that same thing can happen with players who are dating non players outside of the team. Those things happen regardless of genders.

Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson hated each other, yet they put aside their differences on the ballfield to win two world series together. Life isn't always easy. Suck it up, buttercup.
