How do the Vipers feel about that?

Not sure, exactly. The Vipers coaches form the board, and the board votes on stuff. Pretty common, I'd imagine. From what I can piece together, half the coaches wanted to expand and add more teams, half wanted to stay exclusive. Tamborra wanted to be exclusive. Also, some coaches didn't like the fact that the Tamborra teams (there are/were 3, I think) always got the best tourneys and fields, etc. etc.

Red, white and blue :)

Glad to hear they are sticking with the same colors, would've stunk to have to buy all new everything.

Ah, yes. Plenty of red, white and blue orgs, for sure.

Being in Georgia, most teams around here are red, white and black. UGA colors. I'm so sick of it.

I would have gone with Argonauts. Very mythical.

How many teams did she take with her?

10, I think.

Her two Vipers teams, 3 other Vipers teams (ours included) and then some close friends of hers who have very solid teams. One from EC Bullets, don't know where the others are from. One of the teams she didn't take is thinking of leaving Vipers as there's not much left. And if they follow through with their plan of adding a lot more teams...

It might really weaken the brand.

I think they are down to 4 teams from GA, 3 from FL.

Yes. I think last I saw there was another "Coming Soon" under 10U. Basically one team per birth year. I don't know where LONG or FREEMAN came from. HAMILTON, OLSON and SCHILLER-JONES were all Vipers teams. VALLERY was EC Bullets.
Looks like Freeman was Bombers Gold Freeman/Lewis and Long was Southern Force Premier Long

Sounds like they are going down the road of Impact, more teams more money for the organization.. Florida Impact is basically dead now after adding a bunch of marginal teams and losing a few.

Two organizations here in the Midwest going down that same path last couple years. Guess it is natural, but never seems to end well.

I spoke with a parent of kid in one of them. He was on his fourth DD going through TB. Said only people that ever benefit from expansion are those running the org and/or facility owner, but never the players. I don't think he is too far off.
