and you will for sure see a lot more replanting - again, it's hard to see so no one will call it.

I can see it quite easily,

actually, the pitcher very clearly looks to be in "two parts", there is a hesitation halfway through for the replant and then the pitch is delivered.
As you point out replanting can be seen.

Ok so they made an adjustment in the ruling for the defense/pitchers feet.

What are your thoughts on the advantages that have been created for the Offense/Batters over the years?

If skid marks didn't keep this going, nothing will.

My childhood friend’s mom would loudly and sternly express “Oh, SUGAR!!!”
We knew what she meant, and got out of her hair forthwith!

One of my younger sisters would always give people the pinky since my mom would get mad if she gave the finger. My mom had to explain to her that the finger itself wasn't the problem. It was the intent behind it.

Still, the pinky kind of became a thing for us. There's a picture I'm not going to post of my three sisters and I all giving the pinky at my wedding.

For all the doomsayers out there it might help to keep in mind that the NCAA (and the organizations that use their rules) are the only places that had a rule requiring a pitcher to maintain ground contact with the push off foot. For years leaping has been legal in international play (WBSC World Cup, Olympics, etc). Here is a USA vs Japan World Cup game in which Japan uses 3 pitchers. The first two leap, the last one has a slight replant. Skip ahead in the video to see them all. If you want to get a good look at the footwork I recommend that you go to the YouTube settings tab and change the playback speed to the slowest setting (.25). Is there anything here that's going to ruin softball as we know it?

This is a softball rule.

Some people decide in their heads that there is some super deep ethical question going on. Some kind of good vs. evil. Nope. It is a softball rule.

Hit the ball. Sorry about that 12u bronze championship your kids team lost because an 11 year old pitcher with bad mechanics beat your kids team.

I guess the only thing that frustrates me a little about it is the fact that for years many of us did what the rule stated and taught our girls to drag - even though some started out as leapers. They worked tirelessly to correct the flaw. Even though some say there is no advantage, I definitely believe that there is. So now those pitchers who were illegal the whole time and didn’t get called on it will also get rewarded with the rule change. It is what it is.
