Sorry, Bigsky its not about man-strength. The chair should help recruit the middle to drive the ball.

Here is a hitter I work with working on foot up and coil, balance, control, ready at release. I am about 20 feet away. I hold the ball up, then I go down a notch. That’s the trigger for foot up and coil. She has to find her balance point. Of foot lands early she’s lost control. Not sure how hard machine is throwing but this drill forces the hitter to be ready to swing sooner rather than later. Slow the ball down. Developing the ability to wait, not rush. This is also how I do front toss. Hitter has to foot up and coil before I move to flip.

I have stayed out of this thread but I like what your hitter is doing here.

Thanks !! Allowing the rear leg to be the driver ( cause of the shift during launch ) is long and slow.. Works fine for in-side out but not capable of turning on anything inner half.

Have always wondered why there is such a focus on the stars of baseball rather than the stars of softball.

Other than the difference in strength and bone mass, the female has a lower center of gravity; flatter and broader pelvis; greater spine curvature due to tipped pelvis; shorter long bones and increased Q angle.

Do we need to further analyze how this may or should have an effect what we are teaching?

The rear leg will turn more on an inside pitch and less on a pitch away. The rear leg is reacting to the hands. The hands are the driver.

The rear leg gets stretched (loaded) by the coil of the upper. When the brain says go, the hands go first. The rear leg bursts reacting to the hands. The entire body is reacting to the brain and the hands. Just launch your swing. If the ball is in, out, up, down, the body will react accordingly. Brain, hands from a fully stretched launch position. Body reacts

I understand your point but for what I have done, I have used people like Pujols as examples for my hitters. I believe The Science of Hitting is a rock-solid reference for all hitting. I am positive that great examples are out there for the use of female hitters. Lauren Chamberlain was one example many used a few years ago. Old habits die hard and so, I repeat what I have repeated countless times here.
