We went to the batting cage last night and it was bad! We worked on posture but as soon as she swings full she comes out and up. Which I think we all agree is causing a lot of the issue. I think the answer is (get this): Squish the bug!
At this point I don't think she's actually capable of squishing the bug, turning her foot and not her hips but it might get her to stop dragging her back foot forward and up after contact. Who's in?
No, I don't believe that will solve any issue you are describing, but I'm curious of what makes you as the one instructing, conclude that its whats going to possibly help? IMO, don't try and guess about what is happening and how to solve a particular issue you see.

That's one no vote! I'm not guessing on the problem, it's obvious. I'm trying to think about ways to deliver the message to my kid about not coming out of posture after contact. Seeing that she finishes knee to knee - I'm thinking this could help.

Ok, but you didn't answer the question: what about "squish the bug" is going to help alleviate the issue of coming out posture?

I'm asking you to answer these things, before doing anything, because I've been down that road, of trying to solve issues, by just guessing at whats going to fix the perceived issue.

It gets her to think to keep her foot in place instead of dragging it forward and when she drags it forward she pulls up. The more I think about it the more I'm convincing myself.

Ok, what do you think is causing the dragging forward in the first place. Is it her foot or something else?

If you did ask her to squish the bug, what other possible issues, could that introduce?

In this clip to much movement in the frontal plane (catcher/pitcher). She needs to fall forward into her legs against the core stretching back. This will provide leverage for her core to fire.. Her current power source is move forward to then snf (rear legged).
