Brian, I promise I’m not doubting you! And maybe we’re just sheltered here in NC, but I swear I’ve never seen a 12 year old girl pitcher ever throw 60 mph, much less 63!

Again, never say never, I’ve just never seen it! And I promise I know what 60+ looks and feels like, very well.

I agree with this, DD plays top level 18u and while 60-63 is normal, very few seem to be above that (perceived speed). I have seen a lot of softball so I would like to think I know it when I see it too.

Y'all are just not watching the right softball games. Some of these 12 and 13 year old girls are as big as their 18U counterparts and have been training since they were 7 or 8. It was a big tournament that attracted the top teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and a few California teams. It should not be surprising that these girls can bring the heat.

While a normal 18U girl will throw 60-63 and exceptional 12U girl can do the same. An exceptional 18U flame thrower is throwing 70+

Hey, I said never say never! You're talking about the top 1 or 2% in the Country obviously, so that's two things I've never seen before.....a 12U player throwing 60-63 and a 18U player throwing 70+! Honestly, never seen either!

I need to get out more!

I’m sure they exist somewhere, never seen it though. And I’m at the right tournaments and fields.

Maybe at IDT, we’ll see.

Shameless brag, DD will be playing in the 18U IDT all star game tomorrow (2022)

I have a Jugs Radar Cube in the cage at the house. At 13 my kid started hitting 60 according to Jugs. I figured she would keep progressing at the rate she was and now, 3 years later, she would be hitting 66. But she got the "fumes", went from throwing out there almost everyday to now maybe once a week, if that, and here we are... her topping put at 62 (if nobody is looking or she can't see radar guns pointed at her) and just a sourpuss of a look on her face if I ask her how her velo was today. Son's are so much easier

I’ve seen a lot of high level softball and have never seen a 12U throwing 60+ or an 18U throwing 70+. 18U throwing 65+ is rare. A 12U throwing 60-63 would be once in a generation or ever.

The kid throwing for TX Glory in below link was probably (won't know for sure since it is a secret) one of the kids mentioned..everybody can make their own determination (albeit qualitatively..) Opposing (Angels) pitcher may have been another one he measured.

Edit: The SS for Glory is really good for a 12/13 YO...

That is 56- 58 tops.

Is this the tourney organization that all the huge clubs formed to keep all the small clubs away?
If you mean Alliance, then technically no. It is an invite like 100 other tournaments. That said the tournament organizer has a leadership position in one of the Alliance leagues.
