Not always "common' for some, but most definitely correct factors when it comes to actually applying them to swinging a bat.

Ya know, I should just go through all of Matt's videos, and create an index list of their topics for myself...then save myself a ton of time and energy, and just post the appropriate one as my reply to the often odd stuff that gets posted here and elsewhere.

Because as I mentioned in another topic, "I've yet to see an Antonelli video that I didn't agree with...", and this one I've seen before is no different. (y)

it’s good that you’re learning. I tried to explain this to your buddies and got crickets.

Antonelli bypasses the middle of the body by opening his lower body and rotating his hips first to swing. The rest of the video ain’t bad. But it’s still a longer, slower swing with poor direction and energy transmission.

does Miggy open his lower half or hips to swing? Uh-oh. Move from the middle. Gotta match big guy. Gotta match.

Got me to wondering. Just when did Antonelli take a swing? When was he talking about hip sequence?

Glad that works for you. Go get em (y)

So Tewks and Antonelli both talk ttb because there sequence was abaf. I agree with both of them that the coaching in the big leagues wasn't good. Do you thing ttb with an abaf pattern will play in the bigs ?

Why not try to duplicate what these guys are saying but from a leveraged fyb position.

Gotta ask, are you talking about how the "feel" of the swing happens as someone else mentioned today (which I "Liked" in agreement)...or are you once again attempting to make up some pseudoscience terminology "Move from the middle" in hopes that that might make your post sound more credible than Matt's video which is certainly correct from a kinesiological standpoint?

IMO to get your hands flat like JDM was illustrating you actually have to fight the forearms from rotating. Keeping the hands/wrists in radial deviation (cocked) in the goal.

I’m going to test radial deviation next time I swing. We will see if helps my top hand from unhinging or TTB too much.

Get your lead foot down for leverage then turn your middle first. Cock your both wrists and keep em cocked until they get past the rear hip if possible and then make sure they uncock without rolling over. Don't roll over until follow through.

All done.

Move from the middle is pretty basic science. If you believe basic human movement Is preprogrammed in the spine.

like I said I didn’t mind most of it until he said ‘when I launch’, he rotates the rear leg hard which is ground up and slow.

See, I can agree with this also, but aren't your "hips" technically "your middle"?

If the acetabulum is "the bottom of the top", and the femoral head is "the top of the bottom", doesn't that make the "hip" the two combined make up...right in the "middle" of the "top" and the "bottom"?
