Got it, and the one legged guy looks to be more quad dominant and its a totally different swing. So i agree. Moot.

For every 100 posts from everyone i usually get at least 1 thing out of it. Just learned about Flexion and Extension. That will probably be my next question for Bonesaw.........
I am always learning like you, and like I said JMHO..

You need it as part of all the leverage you need to swing.
Hey, I am not alone... Lots of folks not only here but across the country have recognized the differences... One legged does work and has no "hitting position" dependencies, so it may be easier.

Whats carpenter trying to say when he discusses the hitting position ?

My thing with hip extension comes from years of doin this(obsessing on forums/youtube) with golf. And then a slightly shorter period of olympic weightlifting. Ive been at the softball thing about a year.

I like anatomy and physiology as well from my previous job(and hopefully future job). I would like to know what, how and why.

For instance, its easy to say "keep your posture" or "leverage this" or "I feel this happening". But sometimes that can be a little ambiguous or not what is really occuring(feel vs real).

Like "leveraging the front leg". To me this can mean actively pushing the foot into the ground. Or it can mean extending the hip. Both end up straightening the front leg. But one is anterior one is chain and one is posterior chain.

Similarly players dont "lose posture" because they forget to keep it. They just cant try to keep it. Its because they are out of sequence. Something is too slow or too fast(most likely too slow either bat or rotation) and the body reacts to being out of position by trying to get itself into position with the only muscles it has left to use.

Not really sure what you mean, the posture people say this and the extension people say that. Show me with either video or whatever.

Tell me in the words that you would use to tell your daughter to hit better.

You still don't get what one legged means.

You are not going find all your answers here and sometimes you will even be more confused because we all don’t agree. If you want to learn about posture then take a look at out front hitting on Instagram. This guy talks about posture an awful lot, he’s easy to understand and he demos, and provides drills.

How about you try some stuff and make up your own mind.

Or hire a coach.
