The ground with a proper knee lift and posted up back side for coil (compressing front hip against back hip) and riding this feeling forward. If hip compression is maintained they will want decompress at contact

There is a "stretch"between rear leg and hip. But there is also many core muscles stretching. The whole torso works together to create suddenness. Throw bats. Launch bats as far as you can and you will develop a natural sequence to produce power.

The core being stretched backward then forward creates torque. Along with momentum and shift creates leverage for this torque. This leverage rotates the hips. All are needed.

Momentum and shift by itself can create ‘active’ hips (unbalanced ) ( low adjustability).

Core torque by itself can create an ‘around’ swing. Among other issues.

The core being stretched both ways while the COG moves to its new ‘balanced’ position creates a powerful, adjustable, time friendly swing with minimal effort.

sequential resistance along with shift/momentum rotates the hips. ‘reactively’.

Thats what I meant.

Has anybody heard of and /or tried the Core Velocity Belt? And is it superior to Power core 360?

Since the ‘core’ consists of many parts. I thought a breakdown was needed.

I would also edit your quote of ‘the core works together’ to ‘the core works against itself’ since that is truly what is taking place.

I say this with a definition of ‘core’ inclusive of the glutes and the head with everything in between.

Never used a 360 belt. Or any other device. So I wouldn’t know the pros and cons of it or them.

The rear leg is the Driver.

I'm all in on this thought process. You want a young hitter to keep their hands loaded during stride/toe touch? You want to create separation? You can talk all day long about muscles and triggers to a 10yo kid but it's rarely if ever going to sink in. I've found the easiest way to communicate the "feel" is that the rear knee starts the race. And then let the knee "win the race". It's just about the only way to get a young player to actually get full rotation of the hips and get them in time.

My concern with saying the torso turns and the hips are along for the ride is that the lower half never gets engaged.

I have never seen someone rotate their torso inward (front goes in and back goes backwards) as they stride forward, and not engage their lower half. Do you happen to have a video clip or picture somewhere that shows this?

The question was ‘what causes the hips to rotate in a HIGH LEVEL swing? Not what works for you? And not ‘how can I get a kid to rotate fully’.

Actually in some HIGH level swings the hips don’t fully rotate. But the core does. Go figure.
