Flat on the high pitch seems wrong. Feel a shoulder turn imo. I will demomthis today. Nice discussion.

Turn the knob up to your nose immediately is a cue Rich has passed along recently. It is one of the best cues you can use.

What I saw was some excessively high lead-arm jutting like action which for many would create a blocking type action. Please explain the benefit of this. Was that purely intended as a drill, and if so, what action was meant to be extracted and carried forward into one's game-swing?

Yes I am confused, that looked a little extreme to me... ?

Not seeing 'barrel dumping' in your DD's swing.

First move as she tries to load is she gets the barrel flat behind her then swings "flat" to the ball..e.g. DBSF type pattern. She also doesn't hold
any stretch/separation she does create. Unless we are talking different things e.g.
something positive on your end and me something negative...:p Maybe a bad angle to see it. If she did that and then brought it back up like Bryant
then it would be ok. Bryant seems to be just doing it with his initial pre-pitch movement and then as he loads he gets it into a correct position.

This thread isn't about her though so I will shutup now :D We can continue the discussion in the thread about her if necessary

Hopefully the OP has gotten the help he/she needs in this thread as it has gone in a million different directions....

I agree but, on this swing your DD does not 'dump' the barrel(barrel dropping below the ball).

I have a question about scap load... when does it occur? Do you load your scap as the back hip starts to rotate to aid in upper body resistance... or would that create too much upper body resistance and a disjointed swing?

2nd Question, any good drills for emphasizing resisting rotating the upper body as the back hip starts to rotate? I mean I can explain it to my daughter in theory.. but we need something practical to drive it home

Thanks
