Well lets be honest, most coaches and daddy's stretch the truth, can you say for sure that they don't?This whole thread has got out of hand, and you acting like child in your post,it is not helping.By the way the faster they come in the father they go out, because there are girls working just as hard at hitting as there are pitching!!!!I could careless if she is pitching 60,she will just peak faster and all the batters will catch up and she becomes just another pitcher!!

I just wanted to give a little closure on this because I read a recent post about 9YO throwing fast (dare I say 60mph, lol).

I never posted the pitcher's name because she is not my DD. But today, Amber is 18YO now and has a wonderful career ahead of her. She has never been "just another pitcher" and UM recognized that. After playing for my 13U team she went to our 18U Gold team, then pitched a little for the Bandits. Quite frankly, she could have pitched for any TB club and been the stud, IMHO! I have always told her she's the best pitcher I have ever seen. I linked an article from her college website.

If you want to see something impressive, look at her HS stats. She finished her high school career with over 1,000 career strikeouts and over 100 wins. She was named All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State five times and was a 2016 All-American. In Iowa, 8th graders can play varsity ball.

Wow, this thread started in 2011. You really are pathetic. You still mad at the kid that was in kindergarten with you that took your toy? Well guess what not all states allow 8th graders to play varsity ball. If they did there maybe several girls with a 1000 strikeouts and 100 wins. That's 5 years to get those wins and let's face it some schools are really bad. I guess only time will tell how she does in college. I wish her lots of luck. I have to go now and beat a old classmate up from the 6th grade that borrowed a pencil and never gave it back. I gave him 34 years to give it back.

Living in So. Cal, you get all the top pitchers (lol), 10u's throwing 50-55, 12u's 55-60, 14u's 60-65.... However, I have yet to see any of these girls and my youngest even tried out for a team (10u), where the pitcher threw 50-53 (never happended). Well, when it is 35 feet, I am sure it may get to 50, but, back her up 5 feet and with a bigger heavier ball and that 50 now becomes a 43-45. My first year 12 is just now, getting 47-48 consistent, but, it has taken her quite sometime and a lot of practice, will she eventually hit the 50 and over club, hopefully maybe in the late summer if she doesn't wear down. I just don't see it, especially with all the muscle growth, hormone changes and differents sports girls play.

The size of the ball and distance never really mattered to my DD. When she was with her old PC he always used 12" balls and she would throw the sideways length of a basketball court (prob around ~45ft) and he gunned her at 46 (not sure what gun he used). When I work with my DD she uses 11" balls at 35' and I clock her with my pocket radar at 46. She's still 9.

awesome to see that this coaches pitcher is having so much success at the college level. undefeated at a top D1 program. and this is the reason for my original post. i knew there were 12u pitchers throwing 60, because i had one. i just didn't know how she stood up next to the top 12u pitchers. luckily this coach answered and i see how well his pitcher fared, and now to see how well my dd fared. can't wait to follow these pitchers on their journey

Epic thread. It's like the comments section of a Youtube "radar-Grandpa" video.

I remember being at the diamond with DD (12 yo) and PC; he brought his RevFire and was "clocking" her at 55-56 (she had never been gunned before); sounded plausible but seemed a little high. Clocked her soon thereafter with a Stalker Sport 2 and got max 52.4.

Bottom line - no matter how earnest the poster, speed claims on the web are pointless and virtually impossible to prove. You are inviting ridicule and confrontation. Having said that, it's not difficult for me to believe there could be a girl out there throwing 7.6 mph harder than my DD at the same age.

In the end, all that matters is getting people out.

there is nothing at all to prove. the girls we talked about back then are now dominating on the mound and pitching for top 10 teams. they knew the haters were meaningless and just continued on their journey and now they are at the top of the game. hence the question "WHAT ARE THE TOP 12U PITCHERS DOING".
because they were heading for greatness...

My 2 cents. Most of the pitchers that were really good that have played with and/or against DD (even back to 8u) have become very, very good travel ball and high school pitchers. In fact, several have verballed to Arizona, Stanford, Ohio State to name a few schools. These were the kids throwing harder then everyone else and were very accurate and have gotten much better with regular pitching lessons and playing for competitive travel ball teams year-round.

and thats the pitchers i was asking about, before all the rec parents got involved. i only wanted to know what the top pitchers were throwing, and where they were going. i wasn't asking if a 12 year old could throw 60, i had that answer. i just wanted to know if that was good, compared to the best of the best...

So what do you mean by that statement? Before all the rec parents got involved.
was a loaded question. the first riseball i witnessed was thrown by a 14 year old girl.so i knew the top 12s threw 60 but my question was what else are they doing. you have posters that have dd's in rec, travel, top travel teams and then top travel teams that go to pgf nationals and win. those pitchers a verballed in the next year or so... thats who my question was towards. and luckily i got my answers through all the trouble makers, and the non sense answers and now at least two of these pitchers are pitching at the highest level.'
