Yes, gate fee you pay to go watch your kid play. In Florida we usually have no gate fees unless playing at Disney $12-18 or some showcases at $8. But ASA, NSA, USSSA are all typically no gate fee. We usually pay about $425 for a 3/1 or 2/2.

Yep, no gate fees for weekend tournaments in Florida.

Nationals - Disney charges a ridiculous amount for USSSA

It looks like we have higher gate fees than most everybody else. However our tourney fees look to be on the low side. Most one days run $150-$200 (3GG) and two days run $200-$250 (4GG).

I am not a fan of the team gate fee tourneys. If you've got three or four coming it's a great deal for your family. If only one fan from your family can attend, they shouldn't have to pay $12-$15 dollars to see a tourney. Not to mention the headache of trying to collect this money every weekend before entering the ball park.

MD/DE USSSA usually doesn't charge a gate fee for tournaments, however an open tournament is $500 for 4GG so i'm guessing the gate fee is factored in. Gate fee for USSSA world series in Salisbury MD is $800 for the team. Must be paid with your registration or you won't be registred. It was $500 last year, i'm guessing $1000 next??? Oh and they did this because it's cheaper to charge us than it is to staff the place and try and make people pay. Really wish there were more ASA, NSA, PONY around here as they tend to be cheaper, better run, better comp and more games.

Had no idea that folks in other areas had to shell out so much in gate fees. I think one of the reasons it does not fly down here (Florida) is the competition between associations. We usually have a few tournaments within an hours drive each weekend.

For those of you paying gate fees, are these the only tournament in the area? Or are there multiple tournaments and everyone just gets hosed for gate fees?

I have to pay to see basketball and volleyball and football. Softball is no different. Our teams play at a local complex and it is sort of a league.

We may have 1 maybe 2 in a 30 mile radius, you drive farther south around Atlanta they are numerous tournaments per weekend.
