We started in a Jr. High gym, during archery team practice. Trouble is my kid threw a pitch wild and it hit the light switch in the new gym. We went to the store and replaced it and never threw there again. School said it was OK but that's not how we role.

If you can't find the perfect place, it may be worth it to invest in one of these, which can be set up pretty much anywhere you just have space.

I think it's just called "pitching tunnel". I saw it at pitchingtunnels.com
