Why HS ball is NOT irrelevant.....

High School ball is important to colleges for 3 things. It lets the colleges see that the student athlete can handle, Athletics, Academics and a social life at the same time. It gives them an insight to how they might be able to preform at the collegiate level.

To kids its the fun of playing with friends. To the parents its about putting all those goodies written about your dd in the local paper in her scrap book. To the School its about playing for community pride.

Unless your dd,s school is full of she studs that go to state year in and year out. The time spent is more for memories than anything else.

Wait til you see the parents at HS games (of the Gold ASA players). Not many fans are there but the Gold dads are yacking instructions at their daughter through the fence and heckling the umps. They they tell the HS coach after the game every little thing he or she did wrong with regards to their daughter, etc.

That really happens? Our HS coach has made it well known. Run your mouth and your DD sits. I respect the guy for a bunch of reasons, but he will sit his Ace to make a point if it comes to that.

That being said TB Gold doesn't have a monopoly on A-hole parents. There are many rec parents that think they know everything as well...

I like the 3 B's of parents, Be on time, Be supportive & Be quiet! LOL
