Haeger's screwball motion is nothing like the OP is describing.
Hold your arm out in front of you, then simulate turning a doorknob so your hand rotates clockwise.
Whether someone calls it a screwball, corkscrew fastball, or whatever, it is a horrible motion and should not be encouraged. I know the "turn the door knob" cue is popular for a rise ball. Doesn't mean it is appropriate.
