One thing that's worked great for us for forming and maintaining a pocket is a velcro kneepad (ours is a Schutt short). Storing the glove with a ball in it and the pad wrapped tight around it goes a long way toward keeping everything in the right shape. Very easy to put on and DD always has a ball, even when the bucket gets left in the car.
