Prize money or covering fees is allowed if it doesn't exceed actual expenses. It's all covered at the NCAA Eligibility Center. https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/ Other levels have similar rules to confirm a mature status, but I'm not as familiar with them.

Registered DS this past week with NCAA Eligibility Center for D1 swimming.
(he has entered his JR year of HS)

Was surprised at the number and detail of questions that had to be answered, once we checked the box that he has competed with a "club" team. Mostly concerning where the money comes from for him to participate.
