Yes it’s like hitting. A D1 pitcher who worked with my girls who resets said it was the same as hitting.

Resetters push off around 5.

Only the hold is reversed, you hold the upper from opening. Creating the coil. Edit: I guess it’s the same, the upper holds the coil.

I'm assuming you mean replant and push again when arms and glove reach 5:00?

I have seen few pitchers with this type of motion but didn't realize it was intentional. Mainly stronger frame girls that I would describe as "muscling" the ball.

No, they disengage from the rubber earlier around 5:00 in the upswing of the arm as they coil and rotate open.

Maybe it’s not disengaging at 5, they start to pivot/open around that time.
