I will respectfully and adamantly disagree that "palm up," when used correctly, will cause a problem. Palm up is an adder and not something to try to teach out of a kid. Find the problem and correct it.

I totally agree. My dd's problem was with the "when used correctly". The pauly/javasource/balswick videos address this particular issue, IMO.

I see that my poor writing conveyed the opposite of what I meant. Thanks for catching it and pointing it out. I went back and edited it to hopefully make the post useful.
