I'm a little confused today. I watched a great softball game, and saw my DD's team lose 6-5. They lost with dignity...they played well. The other team was one run better than they were today. Winning is better than losing, but there is no humiliation in losing a well played game.
The team was hugging each other after the game, and you could see that something special had happened on the team. And, it was good. I was very proud of my DD and her team.
And then I read about Baylor...and I wonder how an entire community and university can lose their soul in order to win a football game.
"For what if a person profited, and gained the whole world, yet loses his soul?"
Disgusting failure on the part of Baylor U. to properly control its football program...
Excerpts from Baylor Report
The whole community of Waco was in on it...the university, the police and the newspapers. All to protect the Sacred Football Program.
