"Prom" or "Play ball"??

Here high school softball is in the fall, so the girls do not have this problem. The boys howeve, have had this problem a couple of times. The boys play in the same tournaments every year, so the schedule is out in the fall for the spring season. For a couple of years prom was scheduled over the same tournament. The boys worked around it the best they could, but finally had enough. The third year they complained at the scheduling of prom, and no one in the administration listened. They made it to the finals and didn't adjust their schedule, and showed up in uniform straight off of the bus. It looked like everyone of them had taken sliding practice. I don't think prom has been scheduled over a tournament since.
