Great thread idea!

Here's my 9 yo from the spring rec season, doing a little bit of everything.

A little bit of everything? I guess, so! Those are great. Her little arms must be about 5 inches around.

Those are terrific shots. I wish that some of my 9 YOs, were that advanced.

Thanks Amy! Yeah, she's a squirt but she was probably one of the best players in 9U last spring. She has a real strong arm and is fast as anything. She wants to move up and play 12U rec a year early next year but I'm hesitant because I know that if she does she won't get nearly the amount of mound time that she'll get at 10U, and she wants to pitch more than anything. I can pretty much say that it's a forgone conclusion that she'll be one of the two pitchers on next summer's 10U all-star team so I tell her to play 10U through LL all-stars in 2011 and then move up for 2011 Fall ball. At the same time, I realize that her overall skills are better suited for 12U. Thoughts?

Here's some more catching shots. I love these photos because you can tell how small she really is from the gear. The neck guard is pretty much a belly protector. =) I can't take credit for the photos as my sister-in-law shot them at a game in the spring.

You can see half of Coach Dad in the dugout on this one (blue shirt). I'm much more relaxed when she isn't pitching.

At 7? What are you guys feeding these girls? I had a 13 YO start pitching recently that has only played for a year. She is way behind what you guys are showing me at 7 and 9.

As far as moving up a year early, I would let her enjoy one more year pitching against her own age group, especially at 9. Sometimes, I suggest moving up when they are 11 and older, due to the poor pitching that they might be facing.

Either way, it looks like a fun time.

Batting Cage

Here's one of my DD, 11, in the cage a couple of weeks ago. Don't have a recent tournament action photo of her right now. :(
