On the subject of being HBP--I believe it. I'm one of those girls that compares bruises and happily shows them off. I'll take one without hesitation and I know how to turn into them properly. I can't say I enjoy it hitting me, but we do compare the bruises and laugh them off later.

Perhaps you should get out more. I've had girls comparing bruises to see which one was prettier. ("Oh, isn't this a lovey shade of blue!")

As one of those girls (who has pictures of some of her better bruises) I have no issues believing girls will compare bruises. I'm proud of some of my bruises.

I don't believe that girls will take them willingly. All it takes is for one little thing to go wrong and its a serious injury. I can't believe a coach would risk his players health like that for a damn base. What's the term used here? Bush league? Its pretty bush league to teach your girls to take a ball on purpose.
