We try to shut down the running game before it gets started. Most coaches are looking at catcher throw downs during pregame and between inning warmups. We train our catchers to be very aggressive in the warmups, making quick, hard throws back to the pitcher. The last warm-up pitch is always a fastball outside and a little up with the catcher cheating and making a low hard throw to the bag. Amazing how few teams run on us - and our catchers just have average arms. Send a message on every throw.
