Who won the bet and what kind of beer did they get!
Bretman, unfortunately we were bamboozled in a game by an opposing coach. We pulled in our 3 outfielders, in a tie game the past, to cut off angles and the winning run. The opposing coach, whose team had won National Championship 2 years ago, went ballistic. The ASA certified umpires agreed with him and instructed our outfielders to remain on the grass. We tried in vein to explain why this was wrong. The head umpire told our head coach to leave the field immediately, or get tossed. This is what we based our bet on. We figured maybe it was a rule that we did not know about. Needless to say, we lost our bet and the game. The damage was a Miller Lite 24 pack.
What age group?
The game was at 12-U in Souutheastern PA. The opposing team was from the Trenton area. The team won the Babe Ruth Championship a few years back. The umpires for that game had a combined age of at least 150. Not to offend anyone but, because of their age they missed a good game. Please note that our player's know nothing about this bet. Now they understand the rule better. Thanks. D'E
