Whe was given a chance to do something amazing. It's not anyones fault that she didn't nor should she feel any failure, but aren't you glad she had the oppertunity? If she hit a triple you'd feel different.

From the coaches point of view what did he have to lose. It wasn't like he pulled someone who had been productive that game and PH for them. He took a gamble, some people like to roll the dice and some are more conservative. It this situation where the starting line up wasn't productive he put up someone who had been hot the day before, I don't see an issue.

from your DD's point of view, she should have been thrilled and excited.
Who do you think Kobe Bryant would say should have the ball with the game on the line?
Ask Larry Fitzgerald who should get the pass with the game on the line.
2 outs, bottom of the seventh, bases loaded, down by 1, who do you think Crystal Bustos would want up to bat?
1 run lead, bottom of the seventh who does Cat Osterman think should be on the mound?

Athletes should want the ball, want that pressure, they live for those moments and the challenge.

She just has to realize you can't win everytime and it's ok. She has to just remain confident that next time it will be her's.
