I was told by an umpire the other day that fstpitch bats for next year were going to change and existing bats were not boing to be legal. Not to buy a new bat right now. I know baseball bats are changeing is this true for softbal as well?

Unless he is privilege to info that the rest of are not, he can't say that for sure. This rumor has been around for at least 2 years. It is early in the season, I would buy the bat that I want or buy a non composite from Anderson. But, I waited until Jan. to see if composite bats would be banned for this year and it didn't happen.

Bats for growing kids are not investments, they're something you use now, if they last a whole season, great. More then likely the kid will outgrow the bat by next year, or simply get stronger and prefer a heavier bat.

Buy a bat for now, and worry about next season . . .next season.
