It did have something to do with pitching, she had blood clots in her arm. They took them out, removed a rib, put hardware in her. Everyone was surprised that she was able to pitch after that, she's lucky to even be alive. Blood clots are a rough thing, my mother had one.

At the same time that this was happening to Kenzie, a young lady of the same age, died from it in Casey, IL. I played my ASA ball there, so I was interested in the story. She also pitched and was very well known.

Casey-Westfield softball player Adrianne Denney, a pitcher who had a 26-5 record as a freshman for the 2006 Class A state runner- up, died Thursday afternoon from complications after a surgicial procedure.

Denny Throneburg, a family friend who coached at Casey until 1999, said Denney, a 15-year-old sophomore, originally had surgery two months ago for blood clots.
