The guy demoed a good swing action (which makes him ahead of many), and he's kinda on the right track, but his phrase 'getting your back engaged' is not going to help anyone with their swing. I can't take that phrase and duplicate the swing action.

And of course your 'scap' doesn't go down, or even feel like it's going down. The scap snap is a result, not any action you do with the scap. He's been listening to others, and he's lost on that.

Edgar's typical swing doesn't look like the one in post #1. People do weird things when trying to hit balls out of the zone.

This one looks like the typical MLB swing.

The barrel moving away before blurring.. pulling bottom hand like this:

Top wrist extension maintained throughout enables efficient rotation when needed. Can’t cheat or push really.

Forcing a down under inside-out vertical barrel path isn't compatible with inside pitches..

To clarify - are you saying the swing Antonelli is partially demonstrating is an example of an incompatible "down under inside-out" swing, or is it an example of what should be used to get to an inside pitch?

Thx.

He's forcing a barrel path (not adjustable). The best hitters are able to go with it or turn on it depending on what the pitch calls for.

Similar to this kids forced vertical barrel path.

Is it forced b/c the swing plane isn’t parallel to his shoulder plane?

No its forced because every swing is within the vertical plane.. Like Bonds said "anyone can hit the low pitch" Every pitch down in the zone will be more vertical. The key is to be adjustable for all pitches.

Bonds not forcing a barrel path.
