whatever you decide to call it ~ the issue isn't whether she "gets air" under her foot or not. The issue isn't where her laces are pointed (although that may very well help correct the issue). The issue ~ and what makes it illegal ~ is the fact that she is replanting. She is, in affect, pitching from a foot (or so) closer to the plate than the pitching rubber. She is gaining an advantage over the batter as a result.
