Thanks to not staking down the trampoline as instructed by my wife after moving it (3rd trampoline), it became a kite, after I recovered the mangled carnage, I removed the trampoline mat and we now have a large durable backstop strung up in the basement, works great, pitch and hit into it. Downside, I was told we are getting #4 in the spring.

My DD's hitting coach uses the rubber from conveyor belts between the net from the cage and the wall. These kill a ball and can be hung very close to the wall with out letting a ball hit it.
